Holiday Popcorn Ball Ornaments
Popcorn Recipe Ingredients:
2 cups white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
Salt to taste
1 tsp vanilla extract
10 red licorice pull-apart strands
1 cup red and green chocolate covered candies
2-3 Tbsp. Holiday sprinkles
6 Holiday green and red sugar cookies
1 cup mini marshmallows
Popcorn Recipe Directions:
Place popcorn in a large bowl and set aside. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and water. Stir and heat to "hard-cracked" stage or 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove from heat, add vanilla and mix well.
Slowly pour sugar mixture over popcorn, stirring constantly to evenly coat the popcorn. Mix in chocolate covered candies, sprinkles, crushed sugar cookies, and mini marshmallows. Once the popcorn mixture is cool enough to handle, but not hardened, form small balls. Take one red licorice strand formed in a loop shape, and place inside each popcorn ball.
Place each popcorn ball in greased muffin tins, and allow to cool completely. Once cooled, hang the ornaments on your Christmas tree and admire your work!
